Rust Motion picture Productions, the enterprise powering Alec Baldwin’s “Rust,” is executing a documentary on late cinematographer Halyna Hutchins as it also carries on output of the Western motion picture.
The enterprise declared Tuesday that director Rachel Mason and producer Julee Metz, “near good friends” of Hutchins, will helm the documentary job with the “complete assistance” of Hutchins’ widower Matthew Hutchins. Matthew Hutchins will also serve as an executive producer.
Hutchins, 42, died soon just after staying wounded by a gunshot even though setting up a scene for “Rust” at a ranch on the outskirts of Santa Fe on Oct. 21, 2021. Baldwin was pointing a prop pistol at Hutchins when the gun went off, killing her and wounding director Joel Souza.
In addition to the documentary announcement, Rust Movie Productions verified that “Rust” will resume filming this spring despite involuntary manslaughter prices filed against Baldwin and armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed in the loss of life of Hutchins.
